Question 1190248: The volume (V) of a box varies jointly as the length (l), width (w), and height (h). Find w if V=554.26m^3, l=6.29 ft, and h= 7.07 ft.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This one is very easy, did you try it?
V = lwh --> w = V / (lh) plug in for V, l, and h, and compute.
Just remember that because the volume is in m^3, and l and h are given in ft, so you need to convert l and h to meters first, and your computed value of w will then be in meters. (1ft is about 0.3048m).
In case you are new to Algebra...
Details/derivation:
V = lwh
Divide both sides by "lh":
V/(lh) = (lwh)/(lh)
Cancel "lh" on RHS:
V/(lh) = w
Re-write in standard form (swap LHS with RHS):
w = V/(lh)
