You can put this solution on YOUR website!
two equations need to be solved simultaneously.

2y = 2x + 6
y = 2x + 4

multiply both sides of the second equaion by 2 and leave the first equation as is to get:

2y = 2x + 6
2y = 4x + 8

subtract the first equation from the second to get:

0 = 2x + 2

solve for x to get x = -1

replace x in y = 2x + 4 to get y = -2 + 4
solve for y to get y = 2

you have x = -1 and y = 2

replace x and y in both original equations to get:

2y = 2x + 6 becomes 4 = -2 + 6 which becomes 4 = 4.
y = 2x + 4 becomes 2 = -2 + 4 which becomes 2 = 2.

this confirms the values are good.

your solution is that x = -1 and y = 2.
since the first variable is y, then your solution would becomes y = 2.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

2y=2x%2B6....eq.1
y=2x%2B4....eq.2
-----------------------
since in eq.2 y is expressed in terms of x, substitute it in eq.1
2%282x%2B4%29=2x%2B6....eq.1, solve for x
4x%2B8=2x%2B6
4x-2x=6-8
2x=-2
x=-1
go to
y=2x%2B4....eq.2, substitute x
y=2%28-1%29%2B4
y=-2%2B4
y=2

solution:x=-1, y=2

From the posts of the two other tutors, notice that NO ONE of them followed your instructions.

And they did it RIGHT that they did not follow them,
because the instructions are IRRELEVANT to the problem and to the solution of the system,
as I noticed it to you in my post of yesterday.

Again, for your better understanding: your instructions in the post are DEFECTIVE.

The solutions of both tutors are correct.
