Makes no difference what you do first.
3(x+4)(x+7) = (3x+12)*(x+7) = 3x^2 + 33x + 84
---
3(x+4)(x+7) = (x+4)*(3x+21) = 3x^2 + 33x + 84
---
3(x+4)(x+7) = 3(x^2+11X+28) = 3x^2 + 33x + 84
================
The only possible mistake is to multiply both binomials by 3.
