Question 1188341: The school is looking into finding a company to supply spirit-wear clothing to the students.
under armour advertises that they will charge $50 to make the original screen and $4 for the t-shirt they supply.
Nike only charges $8 for every t-shirt they supply and $10 to make the original screen.
ensure that your solution is in an organized manner, you should include calculations for both companies
and then support your answer with a well-worded explanation.
(this is a question from my homework I would really appreciate it if you help with it.)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
under armour charges 50 dollars plus 4 dollars a t-shirt.
nike charges 10 dollars plus 8 dollars a t-shirt.

your two equations are:

y = 50 + 4x
y = 10 + 8x

you didn't state what the questions were.
in most problem of this type, the break-even point is most often looked for.

the break-even point is when the total cost for both options is the same.

that happens when 50 + 4x = 10 + 8x.

subtract 4x from both sides of the equation and subtract 10 from both sides of the equation to get:

40 = 4x

solve for x to get:

x = 40/4 = 10

the two options will break even when 10 sjorts are [rpdiced/

y = 50 + 4x becomes y = 50 + 40 which becomes y = 90.
y = 10 + 8x becomes y = 10 + 80 which becomes y = 90.

the total cost is 90 in both cases.

let me know if you have any questions regarding this, or any other question you still might not know how to answer.
