Let t=number of hours that has elapsed when they are 69 miles apart
In t hours car-1 travels 32*t miles
In t hours car-2 travels 47*t miles
Now we are told that:
47t-32t=69 collect like terms
15t=69 divide both sides by 15
t=4.6 hr------------------------------ans
