Find the leg AC.  It is  sqrt%28AB%5E2-BC%5E2%29 = sqrt%285%5E2-3%5E2%29 = sqrt%2825-9%29 = sqrt%2816%29 = 4.


sine is the ratio of the opposite leg to the hypotenuse.


cosine is the ratio of the adjacent leg to the hypotenuse.


tan is the ratio %28sine%29%2F%28cosine%29 = the ratio of opposite leg to the adjacent leg.
