Draw this and P is 3 units above the x-axis. That is one leg of a right triangle. The hypotenuse of this right triangle is 5, the distance to the x-axis.
Therefore, the other leg is 4 units from x=-2, or at -6 and +2
so the points are (-6, 0) and (2,0).
