What do you mean, "trace" the parabola? To sketch it?

-4x%2B8=y%5E2
-4%28x-2%29=y%5E2
This parabola has vertex (2,0), has symmetry axis of the line y=0 or the x-axis, and parabola opens to the left. This is not the full answer but should help very much.
