You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

Factor the denominator x^2 - 3x - 40 = (x-8)*(x+5).

The roots of the denominator are 8 and -5.

So, the domain of the function is the entire number line without two points x= -5 and x= 8.

ANSWER. The domain is (-oo,-5) U (-5,8) U (8,oo).

Solved.
