Question 1186363: Solve the rational equation. If there is more than one correct answer, enter a comma separated list.
(x/x+5)−50/x^2−25-(6)=0
they are all separate so pieces in three parts x/x+5 - 50/x^2-25 -6 = 0 Answer by ikleyn(52824) (Show Source):
Hey,
multiply both sides by x^2-25 = (x-5)*(x+5).
The rest is simple arithmetic.
You will get a quadratic equation.
Solve it either using the quadratic formula OR by factoring.

Comment from student: Okay, thank you!! I started on that foot but then I got confused on how to solve the -6 part
with the (x-5)(x+5)... Do I foil those two first? Or do I multiply them with the -6 one at a time?
My response : Yes, you should multiply -6 by (x^2-25) and then make foil.
