The measure of a base angle of an isosceles triangle is 4 times the measure of the vertex angle. Find the measure of the vertex angle
Let the measure of the vertex angle be = x
the measure of the base angles will be = 4x
sum of the angles of a triangle = 180
x+4x+4x = 180
9x =180
x = 180/9 = 20 deg
therefore the angles of the triangle are 20 deg ,80 deg &80 deg.
