You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you multiply the numbers together and then take the nth root to get the geometric mean.

n is the number of terms.

16 * 36 = 576

there are 2 terms.

576 ^ (1/2) = 24.

the geometric mean is 24.

here's a reference on geometric mean.

the examples in there are very informative.

here's another reference that shows where the geometric mean is applicable.

.

For two given positive numbers  x  and  y  their geometric mean is the square root of their product:   GM(x,y) = sqrt%28x%2Ay%29.

For the numbers  16  and  36,  their geometric mean is the number   sqrt%2816%2A36%29 = sqrt%284%5E2%2A6%5E2%29 = sqrt%28%284%2A6%29%5E2%29 = sqrt%2824%5E2%29 = 24.             ANSWER
