You can put this solution on YOUR website!

let angle be alpha
the complement of alpha is 90-alpha
the supplement of alpha is 180-alpha
if five times the complement of an angle is two times the angle's supplement plus+40 degrees, we have
5%2890-alpha%29=2%28180-alpha%29%2B40
450-5alpha=360-2alpha%2B40
450-360-40=5alpha-2alpha
50=3alpha
alpha=50%2F3
alpha=16.666666
the measure of the supplement: 180-16.66666=163.333333

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x, the angle
90-x, the complement of the angle

5%2890-x%29=2%28180-x%29%2B40
Or is the description attempting to say
5%2890-x%29=2%28180-x%2B40%29

They are not the same thing. The description is ambiguous.
