.

I will give a simple hint to you:

                3/4  of  252  oranges is  %283%2F4%29%2A252 = 189 oranges.

So,  after he used  189  oranges to make orange juice,   252-189 = 63  oranges left.

Having this hint,   EVERYBODY   can easily do the rest.

Happy calculations !

a) How many apples did Ali have at first?
let the number of apples be a and the number of oranges o
o=252.........eq.1
if he used 3/4 of his oranges:
252%283%2F4%29=189
remaining number of oranges is
o=252-189
o=63
if the ratio of the number of oranges to the number of apples was 7%3A13 in the
end:
o%2Fa=7%2F13
63%2Fa=7%2F13
63%2A13=7a
%2863%2A13%29%2F7=a
a=117
b) What was the ratio of the number of oranges to the number of apples at first?
at first the number of oranges was 252
o%2Fa=252%2F117
o%2Fa=28%2F13
