You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Let your age = A
Then your sister's age is A + d where d > 0
From the given problem statement:
2A + 2(A+d) = 50
This simplifies to d = 25-2A
Check values of A, where A>10:
A d
--- ---
11 3 --> A=11, A+d=14 (2*11+2*14 = 22 + 28 = 50)
12 1 --> A=12, A+d=13 (2*12+2*13 = 24 + 26 = 50)
13 -1 --> Your "older sister" is younger than you, stop here
Two possible answers:
You are 11 and your sister is 14
or
You are 12 and your sister is 13

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = your age.
y = your sister's age.
2x + 2y = 50
this can be simplified to x + y = 25.
x > 10
y = 25 - x

when x = 11, y = 25 - 11 = 14
when x = 12, y = 25 - 12 = 13
when x = 13, y = 25 - 13 = 12

you can only be 11 or 12 years old.
less than 11 and you are not greater than 10.
greater than 12 and you are older than your sister.
