Question 118354: Identify the axis of symmetry, create a suitable table of values, and sketch the graph for the following table.
y=x^2-5x+3
I have the axis of symmetry of x=5/2
I know how to graph this equation.
I need help with creating a suitable table of values. I am confused with this. Please help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To create a table of values for this equation y+=+x%5E2-5x%2B3, all you have to do is to select a value, any value, for x (the independent variable) and substitute this value into the equation, then solve for the corresponding value of y (the dependent variable).
Do this for as many pairs of (x, y) values as you need.
y+=+x%5E2-5x%2B3 Choose x = 0, substitute it and solve for y.
y+=+%280%29%5E2-5%280%29%2B3 Simplify.
y+=+3
The first pair could be (0, 3)
y+=+x%5E2-5x%2B3 Choose x = 2, substitute it and solve for y.
y+=+2%5E2-5%282%29%2B3
y+=+4-10%2B3 Simplify.
y+=+-3
The second pair could be (2, -3)
Do this for as many pairs as you need.

a "suitable" table of values would probably be centered around the vertex (axis of symmetry),
___ and would show the zeroes (for x and y)

(0,3), (1,-1), (2,-3), (5/2,-13/4), (3,-3), (4,-1), (5,3) ___ listed in table form
