If the strip is taken of the top, then the width remains
the same and the height is less
Let x = the new height after the strip is cut off.
After enlarging the photo will still have the same
relative proportions, so
3.75+%2F+x+=+5+%2F+8
5x+=+30
x+=+6
So the cropped photo is 3.75 x 6
.5 inches must have been cut of the top. 6.5+-+.5+=+6
The strip cut off is .5 x 3.75 answer
