.
A piston-cylinder of gas with a pressure of 45 psi is compressed from 25 gal to 20 gal.
At the same time it is heated from a temperature of 300 K to 360 K. What is the new pressure inside the cylinder ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Use the ideal gas equation  pV = nRT.
Substitute the given data for two scenarious
    45*25 = nR*300      (1)
     p*20 = nR*360      (2)
Divide equation (1) by equation (2)  (side by side).  You will get then the proportion
    %2845%2A25%29%2F%28p%2A20%29 = 360%2F300.
From the proportion,
    p = %2845%2A25%2A300%29%2F%2820%2A360%29 = 46.875  psi.
ANSWER.  The final pressure is  46.875 psi.
Solved.
