.

(a) This force is 50*sin(a) = 50%2A%283%2F5%29 = 30 newtons. ANSWER

This force is OPPOSITE to the ROLLING force and is directed parallel to the inclined plane.

(b) This force is 50*cos(a) = 50%2A%284%2F5%29 = 40 newtons. ANSWER

This force is called "the REACTION force". It is PERPENDICULAR to the inclined plane.

In my solution,   " a "   is the angle of the inclined plane to horizontal.

        sin(a) = 3%2F5.         cos(a) = sqrt%281-sin%5E2%28a%29%29 = sqrt%281-%283%2F5%29%5E2%29 = 4%2F5.
