It looks like you have to solve for x which really means that you have to find the value of x that, when squared and multiplied by 5, gives the result of 100.
Here's how you would do this:
5x%5E2+=+100 First, divide both sides by 5 to isolate the x%5E2.
%285x%5E2%29%2F5+=+100%2F5 or...
x%5E2+=+20 Now take the squrae root of both sides.
x+=+sqrt%2820%29 The right side can be simplified but cannot give you an exact number because the sqrt%2820%29 is irrational.
x+=+sqrt%284%2A5%29 or...
x+=+sqrt%284%29%2Asqrt%285%29 Taking the square root of 4 (that's +2 or -2) you get...
x+=+2sqrt%285%29 or x+=+-2sqrt%285%29

Solve using the square root property
5x^2 = 100
x^2 = 20
x = sqrt20 or x = -sqrt20
x = 2sqrt5 or x = -2sqrt5
