You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f%28x%29+=+5x%5E2+-+25

f%28x%29+=+5%28x%5E2+-+5%29
0=+5%28x%5E2+-+5%29
0=+x%5E2+-+5
x%5E2+=5
x=sqrt%285%29
solutions:x=sqrt%285%29 or x=-sqrt%285%29
the smallest positive x-value for the function x=sqrt%285%29 =>to the nearest hundredth x=2.24

The collection of words in this post MAKES no SENSE.

The collection of words and mathematical symbols in the post by @MathLover1, written in response, MAKES no SENSE, too.

@josgarithmetic, in this situation,  NEITHER  the text of the post,  NOR  the context allows us to make interpretations.

Any interpretation of this text is an arbitrary  FANTASY.

The post, worded as it posted, is good to throw it to a  GARBAGE  BIN,   ONLY.

By the way, everything that @josgarithmetic wrote in his post, is irrelevant to the problem question, as it is posed in the post..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
the smallest positive x-value for the function cross%28y=+where%29 f(x) = 5x^2 - 25
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a parabola with its minimum point vertex. Smallest possible x value will be at the vertex of f.

The vertex occurs in the exact middle of the zeros of f.
0=5x%5E2-25
0=x%5E2-5
x%5E2=5
x=0%2B-+sqrt%285%29
but this much algebraic steps not needed. THE VERTEX AND MINIMUM OF f OCCURS AT highlight%28x=0%29.
