The lateral surface area of a cone is  S%5Blateral%5D = pi%2Ar%2Al, 

where  r  is the radius of the cone's base and  l  is the slant height.




Substitute the given data  r = 6 cm  (radius)  and  l = 12 cm (the slant height)  into the formula and get the 


ANSWER.  The lateral surface area of the cone is  pi%2A6%2A12 = 72pi = 226.195 cm^2   (rounded).
