let x be invested @ 6%
(x+550) is invested at 9%
6%x+9%(x+550)=372
multiply equation by 100
6x+9x+4950=37200
15x = 32250
x = 2150 @ 6%
2150+550 = 2700 @ 9%
Check
2150*6%+2700*9%= =372
