Mentally, in a few seconds, using estimation....

4 coats would cost $2400, leaving only $75 for the gloves; that's not enough.
So try 3 coats for $1800; that means 5*3=15 pairs of gloves for 15($45)=$675, making the total $2475. That's it....

Algebraically....

let x be the number of coats
then 5x is the number of pairs of gloves

The total cost is $2475:

600%28x%29%2B45%285x%29=2475

Solve using basic algebra; I leave that to you.

let the number of coats x and
if a person buys 5 pairs of gloves for every coat, the number of pairs of gloves will be 5x
the price: if gloves costed $45 per pair while coats were $600 each

600x+%2B45%2A5x+=2475
825+x=2475
+x=2475%2F825
+x=3
then 5x=15
the number of coats is 3 and the number of pairs of gloves is 15
check how much it cost:
3%2A600%2B15%2A45=2475
1800%2B675=2475
2475=2475
