Darren used pieces of moulding 7 1/2 feet long, 2 3/4 feet long, and 7 1/2 feet long to frame a doorway. If he started with 20 feet of moulding, how much was left over?

First add up all the moulding that he has used.
7.5 + 2.75 +7.5 = 17.75 feet
Next, subtract this amount from the total length of the moulding, which is 20 feet.
20-17.75 = 2.25
So, Darren has 2.25 feet left over.
