You can put this solution on YOUR website!
see my worksheet.
it's easier to show when the calculations are done by hand.
here's my worksheet.

step number 1 converts 9 + 2/7 into 65/7.

step number 2 divides (65/7) by (5/6).
this tells you how many pairs of shorts can be made.
the answer is 11 pairs of shorts.
the fractional part is ignored becuse it's not a full pair of shorts.

step number 3 multiples 11 pairs of shorts by 5/6 yards of fabric required for ech.
the answer is 55/6 yards of fabric are required for 11 pairs of shorts.

step number 4 subtracts 55/6 from 65/7.
this subtracts the fabric required for 11 pairs of shorts from the total of fabric available.
the result is 5/42 yards of fabric are left over.

your solution is that 11 pairs of shorts can be made with 5/42 yards of fabric left over.

i confirmed using my calculator that this value is correct.

your solution is that 11 pairs of soccer shorts can be made with 5/42 yards of fabric left over.
