A sporting goods manufacturer has 9 2/7 yd of fabric to make soccer shorts.
Each pair of soccer shorts requires 5/6 yd of fabric.
How many pairs of soccer shorts can be made with the 9 2/7 yd? How much material will be left over?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Divide the greater number  9 2%2F7 = 63%2F7 + 2%2F7 = 65%2F7  by the lesser number  5%2F6
    %28%2865%2F7%29%29%2F%28%285%2F6%29%29 = %2865%2A6%29%2F%285%2A7%29 = %2813%2A6%29%2F7 = 78%2F7 = 11 1%2F7.
The integer part of it,  11,  is the number of pairs of soccer shorts.
The material which left over is   65%2F7 - 11 * 5%2F6 = 65%2F7 - 55%2F6 = %2865%2A6%29%2F%287%2A6%29 - %2855%2A7%29%2F%287%2A6%29 = %2865%2A6-55%2A7%29%2F%287%2A6%29 = 5%2F42  yards.    ANSWER
