You can put this solution on YOUR website!

let a number be x
if 11 less than three times a number is the same as 75 less than the product of -1+and the number, we have
11-3x=75-%28-1%2Ax%29
11-3x=75%2Bx
11-75=x%2B3x
-64=4x
x=-16

With N being the number sought, CORRECT EQUATION is: highlight_green%28matrix%281%2C3%2C+3N+-+11%2C+%22=%22%2C+-+N+-+75%29%29

.

Let x be "a number".

Then from the condition, you have this equation

    3x - 11 = (-1)*x - 75      (1)

Simplify and solve for x

    3x - 11 = - x - 75

    3x + x  = 11 - 75

      4x    = - 64

       x    = -64/4 = -16.

ANSWER.  The number is -16.

Solved.

The starting equation was written incorrectly in the post by  @MathLover1.

BOTH  sides of her starting equation are  INCORRECT  TRANSLATION
of the wording condition  (of  English)  to  Math.

Thanks to tutor @MathTherapy who noticed this error.

And  ONLY  BECAUSE  she made this error  TWICE  in  BOTH  SIDES  of the equation,
her solution was eventually correct.

For your safety,  I recommend you to ignore the post by  @MathLover1,  since it contains
