    hamburgers + cheeseburgers = 449


        h      +    (h - 51)   = 449


              2h               = 449 + 51

              2h               = 500

               h               = 500/2 = 250


ANSWER.  250 hamburgers  and  250-51 = 199  cheeseburgers.
