Question 1176847: A random sample of 300 observations from a normal population whose standard deviation is 100 produced a mean of 150. Test the null hypothesis H0: μ=160 against the alternative hypothesis
HA: μ<160. Use α=0.05

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
test statistic will be a z=(150-160)/100/sqrt(300), z=(x bar-mean)/sigma/sqrt(nn)
critical value for a 1 way test is z < -1.645
z=-10*sqrt(300)/100
=-10*sqrt(3)*10/100=-sqrt(3)=-1.732
reject Ho p-value is 0.0416

Hi
 normal population whose standard deviation is 100 produced a mean of 150:
Yes, z-test
Ho: μ=160
Ha: μ < 160
α=0.05
Using z-test:
 z+=blue+%28150-160%29%2Fblue%28100%2Fsqrt%28300%29%29 = -1.7321
p-value = .0416
 .0416 < .05  Reject Ho.
