You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.

There are C%5B9%5D%5E3 = %289%2A8%2A7%29%2F%281%2A2%2A3%29 = 84 ways to select 3 girls from 9 girls.

There are C%5B8%5D%5E2 = %288%2A7%29%2F%281%2A2%29 = 28 ways to select 2 boys from 8 boys.

There are 84*28 ways to combine the team of 5 consisting of 3 girls and 2 boys from 9 girls and 8 boys.

There are C%5B9%2B8%5D%5E5 = C%5B17%5D%5E5 = 6188 different ways to select 5 persons from 17 boys and girls.

So the probability under the problem's question is P = %2884%2A28%29%2F6188 = 0.38 = 38%. ANSWER
