If you make a sketch, you will find that the figure is the union of two trapezoids, oriented VERTICALLY.

They are separated by vertical line x= 3.5.

So, the area of the figure is the sum of areas of two trapezoids.

If you know the formula for the area of a trapezoid, then you should be able to complete the rest ON YOUR OWN.
