You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the equation if the line perpendicular to y= 2x + 7 and is passing through (1, -8)
The given equation has a slope of 2; so the perpendicular line must have
a slope of -1/2. In addition, it passes thru (1,-8)
Substitute those values into y = mx+b to solve for "b":
-8 = (-1/2)*1 + b
b = -8+(1/2) = -15/2
--------------------
EQUATION:
y = (-1/2)x-(15/2) is the equation you want.
