if Ricardo is 34 years younger than Carissa, we have
R=+C-34 .....eq.1
2 years ago Ricardo was R-2 and Carissa C-2, and
if 2 years ago, Carissa's age was 2 times Ricardo's age we have
C-2=2%28R-2%29.....eq.2
solve the system:
R=+C-34 .....eq.1
C-2=2%28R-2%29.....eq.2

C-2=2%28R-2%29.....eq.2...substitute R from eq.1
C-2=2%28C-34-2%29....solve for C
C-2=2C-68-4
C-2=2C-72
72-2=2C-C
C=70
