You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Subtract.
1.
5x/x-1 MINUS 5/x-1
2.
2x squared/x-4 MINUS 32/x-4
Because your denominators are the same for both terms in each problem, you will simply be subtracting numerators.
1)
5x-5/x-1
Factor 5 out of the numerator to reduce the answer to lowest terms.
5(x-1)/x-1 = 5
2)
2x^2-32/x-4
Factor 2 out of the numerator to reduce the answer to lowest terms.
2(x^2 - 16)/x-4
Note: x^2-16 = (x-4)(x+4)
2(x-4)(x+4)/x-4 =2(x+4)
=2x+8
