Question 1174526: Suppose you are given a rectangular piece of cardboard having length 3𝑥−2 inches and width 5𝑥+1 inches. Then you cut out a square from this piece of cardboard having side length 2𝑥 inches. Find the area of the remaining piece of cardboard expressed in terms of 𝑥

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the area is the product of (3x-2) and (5x+1)=15x^2-7x-2
subtract from that 4x^2, so the remaining area is 11x^2-7x-2
Check with x=3 inches
the cardboard is 7 by 16 or 112 in ^2 area
the square is 6 by 6 or 36 in^2 leaving 76 in^2
using the above, f(3)=99-21-2=76 in^2
