Write the function in pencil. Erase each and replace with and do the indicated arithmetic. By the way, what to what power are you supposed to raise the variable in the high-order term? The caret symbol (^) does NOT mean "squared", it means raise whatever it follows to the power of the next character. x^2 is x squared, x^3 is x cubed, x^n is x to the n power, x^{2m} is x to the 2m power.
