Question 1172951: $3.75 is made up of quarters and half dollars. If the number of quarters exceeds the number of half dollars by 3, how many coins of each denomination are there?
I’ve done work for it but my numbers end up not adding up to the total. Please explain this question to me and how I would set it up.

Don't you think it'd have made better sense if you'd also included your work? That way, someone could tell you where you went wrong!
