You can put this solution on YOUR website!
distance=speed*time
x hours on bus*sb=200, where sb is speed of bus
sb=200/x hours on bus units are km/hr.
-
6.5-x hours on train*st=200, where st is speed of train
st=200/(6.5-x) hours
-
y hours on bus
sb=300/y
st=100/(7.25-y)
-
speed doesn't change for bus, so 200/x=300/y and this is 200y=300x or y=1.5x
speed doesn't change for train, so 200/(6.5-x)=100/(7.25-y)
650-100x=1450-200y
y=1.5x
so 200y-100x=800
and 200x=800
x=4 hours on bus and bus goes 50 km/hr.
that would make 2.5 hours on train to go 200 km and train goes 80 km/h
-
Check this in the second
300 km by bus takes 6 hours at 50 km/hr
100 km by train take 1.25 hours at 80 km/hr.
