Question 1170838: A graphing calculator is recommended.
For a certain type of tree, the diameter D (in feet) depends on the tree's age t (in years) according to the logistic growth model
D(t)= 5.4/1+2.9e^-0.01t
Find the diameter of a 24-year-old tree. (Round your answer to three decimal places.)
ft

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the formula is:
d(t) = 5.41 / (1 + 2.9 * e ^ -.01t)

when t = 24, the formula becomes:
d(t) = 5.41 / (1 + 2.9 * e ^ -.24)

solve for d(t) to get:
d(t) = 1.648776579

that's the diameter of the tree after 24 years.
