Question 1170605: At an ocean side nuclear power plant, seawater is used as part of the cooling system. This raises the temperature of the water that is discharged back into the ocean. The amount that the water temperature is raised has a uniform distribution over the interval from 10° to 25° C.
What is the probability that the temperature increase will be less than 20° C?
What is the probability that the temperature increase will be between 20° C and30^(0 ) C?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If this is a uniform function then there is a denominator of 15 degrees (25-10)
< 20 C would be < 10/15 or 2/3 or appropriate decimal.
Between 20 and 30 C is 5/15, and the part from 25-30 is outside the distribution and therefore is not considered. The probability is 1/3.
