In the initial statement, the use of "a number" in both places does NOT mean that those two numbers are the same; the two numbers can be different:
a number more than 32: 32+x
15 more than twice a number: 2y+15
The problem then says
This is an indeterminate equation with an infinite number of solutions; choose any number you want for one of the numbers and plug it into the equation to find the other number.
The statement of the problem, in order to be solvable, should read
"A number more than 32, divided by 15 more than twice the number, is equal to 7/6."
