You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Given:

A:B = 6:5
B:C = 3:4

Rewrite both ratios as equivalent ratios so that the numbers for B are the same; then combine into a single ratio comparing all three shares.

A:B = 18:15
B:C = 15:20

A:B:C = 18:15:20

With that ratio, let
A's share = 18x
B's share = 15x
C's share = 20x

The total is now 18x+15x+20x = 53x, so as fractions of the total,

A's share = 18x/53x = 18/53
B's share = 15x/53x = 15/53
C's share = 20x/53x = 20/53

The difference between A's share and C's share is 20/53-18/53 = 2/53. Given that that difference is $50,000,

%282%2F53%29x+=+50000
x%2F53+=+25000
x+=+53%2825000%29+=+1325000

The total profit was $1,325,000.
