Question 1169631: Triangle PQR with vertices P(1,5), Q(6,7), and R(4,2) is mapped onto triangle P′Q′R′ with vertices P′(3,−3), Q′(8,−1), and R′(6,−6). Which vector is used in the translation?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

P(1,5) is mapped onto P′(3,-3) ->
(1%2Bx,5%2By)= (3,-3)
1%2Bx=3
x=3-1
x=2
5%2By=-3
y=-3-5
y=-8
so, vector used in the translation is (2,-8)

check other vertices:
Q(6,7) is mapped onto Q′(8,-1)
(6%2Bx,7%2By)= (8,-1)
6%2Bx=8
x=8-6
x=2
7%2By=-1
y=-1-7
y=-8

R(4,2) is mapped onto R′(6,-6)
(4%2Bx,2%2By)= (6,-6)
4%2Bx=6
x=6-4
x=2
2%2By=-6
y=-6-2
y=-8

it's same
so, vector used in the translation is (2,-8)
