x is length of side of a square and x*x or x^2 is the area.
width of rectangle ix (x-6) and length is (2x+9), so the area is (x-6)(2x+9)
Can check this
area of rectangle is 2x^2-3x-54=x^2 area of square
x^2-3x-54=0
(x-9)(x+6)=9
x=9 in
so area of square is 81 in^2
sides of rectangle are 3 in and 27 in and its area is 81 in^2.
