.

Solve this quadratic equation

    x%5E2 + 8%5E2 = %28x%2B2%29%5E2

    x%5E2 + 64 = x%5E2+%2B+4x+%2B+4

                64 = 4x + 4

            64 - 4 = 4x

                60 = 4x

                x = 60/4 = 15.

ANSWER. The length of the hypotenuse is (x+2) = 17 cm.

          The legs are 15 cm and 8 cm.

Solved.
