Question 1166749: During the tax-free weekend sales, Isabel wants to use a $50 gift card to purchase supplies. She plans to purchase a $26 ink cartridge for her printer and spend the rest on paper which is $4 per pack.
part 1) Write an inequality which represents the number of packs of paper, p, that Isabel may purchase.
Part 2) Describe the graph of the solution. Be sure to include whether the circle is closed or open and which direction is shaded.
Part 3) If she needs to buy at least 3 packs of paper, how can this be reflected as a compound inequality? Write the updated inequality and describe the graph.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! she plans to purchase a $26.00 ink cartridge for her prints and spend the rest on paper at $4.00 per pack.
if you let x equal the the number of packs of paper, then your formula is:
50 >= 26 + 4 * x
subtract 26 from both sides of this inequality and simplify to get:
24 >= 4 * x.
divide both sides of this inequality by 4 to get:
6 >= x
looks like she can buy 6 packs of paper at 4 dollars each and still spend less than or equal to 50 dollars.
her total cost will be $26.00 + 6 * $4.00 = $26.00 + $24.00 = $50.0
