General term with difference 7 and index n, is 8%2B7%28n-1%29.

If 126 is one of the terms for the sequence, then 8%2B7%28n-1%29=126, and in solving, you expect or hope for a whole number n.

The number   126    IS  NOT   the term of this arithmetic progression.

(Because the difference   126-8 = 118  is  NOT  a multiple of  7).
