Question 1165969: A scale balances only when three gold bars are on one side and one gold bar and a ten kilogram weight on other. Determine weight of one gold bar. Note: All gold bars have equal weight.
Not sure how to solve.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! let the weight of one gold bar equal x kilograms.
on one side, you have 3 gold bars, so the expression is 3 * x
on the other side, you have 1 gold bar + 10 kg, so the expression is x + 10
to be balanced, the weight on one side of the scale needs to be equal to the weight on the other side of the scale.
you get:
3x = x + 10
subtract x from both sides of this equation to get:
2x = 10
solve for x to get:
x = 5
each gold bar weights 5 kg.
one side of the scale = 3 * 5 = 15 kg.
the other side of the scale = 1 * 5 + 10 = 15 kg.
the scale is balanced.
your solution is that the weight of one gold bar is 5 kg.
