(Assume grid lines are spaced 1 unit apart.) Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060) (Show Source):
Draw the horizontal line y = -1, then each value of x where it intersects the
curve will be a value of c where f(c) = -1. I'll draw it in green, and circle
the points where f(c) = -1
I count 4 values of x = c where f(x) = f(c) = -1. How many do you count?
